Year 6 Whakangau

The year 6 assembly My hands were trembling with nervousness. I heard Mr. Ritai rustling the badges, Group 2 stands up. I got handed my badge and made my way to the stage with shaky legs and a bright red face.

Tu Kaha: Tu Kaha means to stand tall, and to me stand tall means that anyone can be a leader and that not only year 6s are leaders. The assembly was not actually just an assembly it was a special celebration for the year 6s to get awarded with their badges and to show how we want to be remembered. When I’m wearing my badge I feel proud that I have made it to the end of primary school and that I can be a role model for the younger kids at Frankley School.
