Passion Project with Sage

Another post for you... Today I will tell you about Sage  and I's Passion project. We organized a show with many different acts in our school hall that raised $41.40 and we are donating it to Starship Hospital and Foundation in Auckland NZ. How much money we were aiming for? : We were definitely expecting somewhere around $20.00 or $50.00! What was our original idea? Our original idea was a one performance and we were just hoping that we would make enough money! When was our performance held?: The 25th of September 2017.

The Big Bad Accident

My body darted down the hallway of my house. Suddenly a bone hammered into my face. My eyes flooded with water. “AHHHHHHHH AWWWW!!!!!!!” I screamed in pain. Anchored to the floor, I heard feet hitting the ground one after the other, A blurry figure appeared in front of me and I realized it was mum running to comfort me. “It’s ok, what did you do?” Mum asked. “I, I, I wa, was running and th,th then I whacked into the corner of the door!” I tried to speak clearly. I stood slowly on my wobbly legs. Mum draped her arm around me and wiped my tears as we walked to the Kitchen. The pain was excruciating and caused me to feel light headed and sick, Thank goodness I wasn’t but it was close!

Hard work pays off!

Last term I joined a challenge called The Search for the next tech girl superhero and I was in it to win it with  Gypsy , Gabrielle and  Alison . We got into the NZ finals with our app we coded called LessStress, an app to help resolve stress for kids aged 7-12, Make sure to drop some comments as soon as you can!

You definitely can’t stop our beat

“Play the MUSIC!” I shouted loudly to Gypsy. The music sings and we continue dancing. We had an audition ahead for Frankley’s got talent and we were both pretty nervous, we chose the song ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’ from the musical Hairspray. We practiced and practiced even at lunchtimes, In the weekend and during school hours! Then the day came when we had to audition and we had these really cool costumes to wear that Gypsy brought from home. “Jazz shoes and costumes on?” Gypsy asks. “Yep!” I replied. “Let’s go!”  We said at the same time We strolled excitedly to the hall and got our makeup on. Our two pony tails whipped and flicked in our faces as we danced our hearts out… “Good job guys you did AWESOME!!!” Some people in the audience said. We earned a lot of encouragement that day it was such a cool experience to have with my best friend.

For week 4 of the blogging challenge it's all about world issues and we have chosen to create a picture to encourage people to help kids that never drink or have family and who don't eat food.

Year 6 Whakangau

The year 6 assembly My hands were trembling with nervousness. I heard Mr. Ritai rustling the badges, Group 2 stands up. I got handed my badge and made my way to the stage with shaky legs and a bright red face. Tu Kaha: Tu Kaha means to stand tall, and to me stand tall means that anyone can be a leader and that not only year 6s are leaders. The assembly was not actually just an assembly it was a special celebration for the year 6s to get awarded with their badges and to show how we want to be remembered. When I’m wearing my badge I feel proud that I have made it to the end of primary school and that I can be a role model for the younger kids at Frankley School.

Great Memories

Have you ever moved house?, What was it like? When I first moved house it was the worst thing that had ever happened to me, first because we had to give up sky TV. I really miss that place because my whole family made so many great memories like the time my sister and I found random shoes that we didn’t even OWN. If I was allowed I would go back and live there. Then the day came when my family moved into our BRAND NEW HOUSE to me that home didn’t really feel like home, So Mum and Dad made the decision that we needed to Insert ourselves into a better HOME a place that felt homely. We started looking at sections to build our new house on and then FINALLY we found a fantastic place to build and that was that the section was OURS.
